EOSC stands for the European Open Science Cloud. It is an initiative by the European Commission aimed at creating a federated and open multi-disciplinary environment where researchers, scientists, and innovators can publish, find, and reuse data, tools, and services for research, innovation, and educational purposes. In this framework, EOSC EU Node initiative launched in 2024 consisting in creating platforms that primarily supports multi-disciplinary and multi-national research promoting the use of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data and supplementary services in Europe and beyond.

To date, thirteen EOSC nodes have been launched, including the DATA TERRA node (CNRS) - https://www.data-terra.org/noeud-eosc/
 
In a context where digital infrastructure is rapidly expanding, and where data and software generated in all fields are growing exponentially, particularly in connection with the emergence of AI, questions arise, particularly in the context of EOSC:

How should we approach the issue of digital infrastructure sovereignty? What is the situation in the fields of health and cultural heritage?
Why move towards the digital infrastructures of EOSC nodes?
What about ongoing projects in different fields that are building a dedicated cloud or digital infrastructure outside EOSC?
What strategy is envisaged at European level when a thematic EOSC node project is proposed even though a digital infrastructure in the same field already exists?

To address these issues, this session will include two presentations and one panel discussion:
- First, Emmanuel Bacry, Scientific Director of the Health Data Hub, with a presentation entitled “Building a data-driven healthcare system: Strategies, and insights from the Health Data Hub.”

- Second, Pascal Dugénie, Deputy Technical Director in charge of the AI Health and HDS mission at CINES (National IT Center for Higher Education), with a presentation entitled “e-Infrastructures for Health Data.”

- This will be followed by a panel discussion entitled “Digital Infrastructures” with the participation of Emmanuel Bacry, Pascal Dugénie, and Xavier Rodier, Coordinator of the European ECHOES project (CNRS - https://www.echoes-eccch.eu/) and Director of MSH Val de Loire.
