This talk highlights key lessons from the Skills4EOSC project, which aimed to unify the fragmented training landscape through common methodologies, shared resources, and community-specific support for EOSC. The project showed that training needs are highly diverse, requiring flexible and modular pathways rather than one-size-fits-all solutions. It emphasizes that community engagement, the multiplication of training capacity through Train-the-Trainers sessions, and professional networks are crucial to ensure relevance and adoption. Interoperable, FAIR-by-design training materials and sustainable structures, such as competence centres, are needed to avoid duplication and embed training in research culture. Connecting national initiatives within a coherent European framework, together with the definition of skills and the recognition of competencies is essential to ensure long-term sustainability. Moreover, user-friendly digital platforms—providing clear navigation and multilingual support—play a decisive role in encouraging the uptake of training resources.
